K-Rated Dry-Type Transformers

OMEX K-rated dry-type transformers are engineered for facilities with harmonic-rich, non-linear loads such as UPS systems, variable frequency drives, servers, LED lighting, and electronic equipment. Available in selected single-phase and three-phase designs, these transformers provide added thermal capability for harmonic currents while supporting reliable power distribution, low maintenance, and application-specific voltage configurations.

Overview

A transformer’s K-factor indicates its ability to withstand the additional heating produced by harmonic load currents. K-rated transformers do not remove harmonics; they are designed to operate reliably in their presence when properly selected for the load profile. OMEX offers K1 as the general-purpose baseline and K4, K9, and K13 configurations for progressively more demanding non-linear loads, with engineering support to match the transformer to the connected equipment.
